Basic information about heat pumps

A heat pump is a device that, for example using electricity, transfers heat from a lower source with a low temperature to an upper source with a higher temperature. Energy can be obtained from the so-called unconventional sources. An example is the energy contained in the surrounding environment e.g.: air, water, ground, sewage. The above examples are low-temperature energy sources. A heat pump is a device that enables the use of such low-temperature energy sources.
