Heat storage based on solidification

Heat storage is a process challenging physicists, chemists and constructors. Heat storage can be divided into three groups depending on the temperature range of a storing agent: low-temperature (up to 120°C), medium-temperature (120 – 500°C) and high-temperature (above 500°C).

There are three basic systems of storing heat energy: by using specific heat, using energy of phase changes ( PCM) and using the heat generated through chemical changes. The present paper focuses on heat storage based on solidification , which is a special case that occurs in reality [1].
