Energy efficiency. Intelligent buildings – Part 1
This material presents a short history of the creation of smart buildings, the various definitions and the shaping of these buildings taking into account environmental, economic and ergonomic aspects.
The idea of intelligent buildings was launched in the 70’s and the first intelligent building in the next decade. It was then that the idea of intelligent buildings was adopted for public and residential buildings. In 1983, the first intelligent building was built in the USA. There are many definitions of an intelligent building. According to one of them, an INTELLIGENT BUILDING is a building that manages resources, services and their interrelationships in an integrated way to meet the changing needs of its users, while minimizing costs and continuously respecting the environment throughout its life cycle. An important role in creating and managing smart buildings is played by the building management system - BMS.
